Home Sweet Home

Okay, this is going to be a short blog. That is due to the fact that I am half blind after an eyeoperation that I got yesterday, nonetheless I can still see the college and the people I am missing in front of me.
To be honest, I didn't cry when I left the place, I didn't cry when we all said goodbye in the airport, however, when I went on the plane, alone, reading my yearbook and the comments (thanks, Lazlo, Artur and Nela for being honest) I felt a bit wierd.
Nothing has changed in my little wonderful town, Haslev. Everyone is looking strange at me because I walk around with my hat on, and the newspaper wants to interview me on monday. Anyway, I will see a bunch of your guys soon, maybe in Vejle, Haslev, CPH or Tel aviv.

Ciao, and thanks for all the fish!
Mads - still smiling, half blind.

Interesting....

Is not a surprise for many of you that I’m a student at RCNUWC…. I actually thought that it was a Nordic college, but no. I have seen so many egoistic acts from some of the staff than at this place. The staff calls us egoistic, but I think it is the other way around. RCNUWC is not what it says in all the brochures we get before we come to this place. I really hope that one of the founders Tom just understood half of what I told him some days ago; that this place is going away from all is beautiful ideals. This place should teach responsibility and democracy, but what it teaches is that students who are for example 23 years old is treated like small kids.

Through international education, experience and community service, United World Colleges enables young people to become responsible citizens, politically and environmentally aware, and committed to the ideals of peace and justice, understanding and cooperation, and the implementation of these ideals through action and personal example. -UWC Mission Statement

This mission statement is not fully lived out at this place. So, change the school, or change the mission statement! You don’t promote personal examples by deciding things from the top. You don’t make young people personal aware by deciding things without their cooperation.

Dear Staff, this is a UWC school. There are many IB schools in the world; we are only special because we are a UWC school. Please make this into a UWC school.

/Mads - soon to be gone from this place

The Geeks Castle

I'm sitting here with my wet ass. I knew that I should have stayed inside the library with all my friends… but Klaus came and forced me to go outside… AHHH sun-light, it burns in my eyes! The last two days have been spent in the Geeks Castle. There are loads of unwritten rules in there, and you have to learn them by the hard way.

Does it work? Hmm…I don’t think so…but I mean... it’s better to try than do nothing at all. Next week I have 7 papers….but only 4 days!!! That is sick! But also wonderful when I am done!
Free at last, free at last, God almighty I’m free at last!

/Ma..(can’t finish the sentence, I have to go and study)
